Westchester AYSO Amateur League (WAAL) region 5021
AYSO has set up a separate subsidiary for adult soccer, NAASA (North American Adult Soccer Association), to limit the lialibilty of over 3000 adult soccer players on the youth program.
The vision is to "Enrich the quality of life in our communities through adult soccer programs conducted in a safe, fair, and fun environment."
The initial Board was formed 12/14/10.
Before 8/31/11 all existing AAL's will be transferred to NAASA. More info to follow soon.
Westchester AYSO Amateur League (WAAL) region 5021 was established June 28, 2005. The purpose of this Adult League is:
to create a sense of belonging to "a league of our own" for several groups of pickup games in different Westchester towns
to assure future access to field space as an organized league
to provide insurance certificates for the owners of those fields, and
to provide insurance coverage (and possibly ID cards and uniforms) for the players.
to provide both a source and practice opportunity for AYSO coaches, referees, and players over 18.
There are currently 65 other AAL's in the US and future direction of development is wide open. We play year-round and just started our fifth season. The minimum age is 19 (younger players can play in AYSO's core program and USASA's minimum age is 19), but the bulk of the players will be 30+ and co-ed. We basically cover Westchester county (AYSO's Area 3T), so players can participate in games in multiple towns.
Players, coaches and refs must sign the registration form/waiver, and provide a legible copy of their driving license. Insurance is provided through (US Amateur Soccer Association, of which AYSO is a national affiliate. We cannot register online or through eAYSO yet. Send this with payment (check made out to "AYSO region 5021") to:
WAAL Region 5021, 24 Copper Beech Circle, White Plains, NY 10605
