Area 3/T Training

AYSO Area 3/T Training - Saturday March 23, 2019

Tarrytown/SH Region 3/T/220 and RC Israel Contreras are hosting live
Coaching and the Regional Referee Companion courses at their Washington
Irving School gym as listed below. Area 3/T is providing the course manuals.

Attending coaches are welcome to bring a player(s) to participate in their course's field session.

Volunteers should bring shoes ("sneakers") suitable for the gym and plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before
their course's scheduled start time  to find parking and get into the gym to check in or sign in before theircourse starts.
If they have not registered for their course(s) inaysou.org, they must bring their AYSO ID with them.

All those planning to attend should log into aysou.org using their same  userid and password as they use to login to their
AYSO Region (in Blue Sombrero). Once logged into aysou.org, they should select "Live  Courses", find the course they
need to attend as listed with the same  name below, and select "Register" for their course to attend. They should get
an email confirmation. or anyone who needs help doing this,  they should select "My Courses" in aysou.org and then
"Open" and review  "How-Tos for Volunteers".

Unregistered attending volunteers must log into aysou.org at least one  time and bring their AYSOID with them to sign in on
a paper roster or  course. Without their AYSOID, course instructors cannot find and add an unregistered volunteer to a course
roster to give them course credit. Weird! But that's how the new AYSOU system still works for now!

The parking lot behind the school is usually available for parking where attendees may walk up toward the left side of the
main field to find the  building entrance with double doors on the left that lead after entering  to the gym on the left.
One of the two doors may be locked.

Please note that coaches who have only taken the online 10U course are not fully trained 10U Coaches. They must
attend a live course and  participate successfully in it's training session with players to  complete their training.

Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Referees must take and pass a written test at the end of each course, record their score
on its front page  and return it to the course instructor in order to receive course credit.
No test, no course credit, no exceptions!

Here is the list of Region 3/T/220 courses as they appear in aysou.org
in the  "Live Courses" section. Volunteers should find their course in
Live Courses and  select "Register" on it before attending:

Instructions for Registering for AYSO Training Courses

Instructions for Registering for AYSO Training Courses

AYSOU provides a wealth of soccer related training for free for registered volunteers. You can reach online courses and
content anytime, anywhere. In addition, Live Courses for coaches can be scheduled here.

1.    Before taking a course, an individual must be a registered volunteer in the new AYSO Blue Sombrero (BSB) system for the region for the current membership year which they intend to volunteer. This is the same ID/password which you may have registered your child or coach volunteering.

2.    After that, to register for in-person or online training, use the new AYSOU system as follows:

·         If you are already a Registered AYSO Volunteer, please click here to login to AYSOU SSO directly (it will pull in your login credentials so you don't have to type them). Otherwise, go to https://www.aysou.org/ and login with your AYSO ID and password.

·         Click on "Live Courses" in the top red menu bar

·         Select the training or live training date, depending on your preference.

·         Click on the "Sessions" Button for the course(s) you are interested in. You may need to scroll down to see all of the courses.
          The following courses are offered:

o Coach: 6U Coach, 8U Coach, 10U Coach, 12U Coach, Intermediate Coach (14U)

o Referee: Regional Referee, Regional Referee Online Companion, 8U Official

o Management: Regional Board Member Training

·         Finally, scroll down through all of the courses (or search for the word Valhalla) to find the local course. Make sure you select the right date! Pay attention to the course location and start time. Please plan to arrive 30 minutes early.

·         If you are confused, select the "My Courses" tab, and open the "How-To’s for Volunteers" tutorial on How to Register for a live Course Session.

3.    For courses in the H.C. Crittenden Middle School - 10 MacDonald Ave, Armonk, NY 10504, from 684: Exit 3 (Armonk, Route 22). Take Route 22 South. At 1st light, turn right onto Maple Avenue. At next light, turn right onto Bedford Road. Turn left (McDonald Avenue) into H.C. Crittenden Middle School parking lot. Alternatively, from Route 120: Turn onto Route 22 North. At the 2nd light, turn left onto Maple Avenue, continue as above from 684.

4.    All Coaching courses include a field session. Coaches should dress like a coach and be prepared to be on a field or in a gym in case of bad weather.

5.    For live training, players are needed/advised for the field sessions in each course and our Coach Administrator, will provide further details to as needed for live sessions. Live instructor led coaching courses with players for field sessions provide a better learning experience for coaches. New coaching candidates get to practice coaching using players with guidance and feedback from our certified coach instructors. With an online course, coaching candidates don't get this hands on experience.

6.    Coaching Candidates for 14U/Intermediate must first complete a pre-requisite course on AYSOU called "AYSO's Online Summary of the Laws of the Game". Candidates must also be a 12U coach already to receive post-course certification. The live Regional Board Member Training course provides general Regional management and job specific information for all Regional volunteers except the RC, RCA, RRA, CVPA, Safety Director, Treasurer, or Registrar.
